With new laws on breast-density notification sweeping the nation, radiologists are concerned 2-dimensional 2D digital mammography alone may not be enough for screening patients with dense breasts. Subsequently, many breast-imaging centers are looking to expand their arsenal of screening technologies. Some of these adjunct-screening tools include automated breast ultrasound ABUS , tomosynthesis, opto-acoustic imaging, breast magnetic resonance imaging MRI , and molecular breast imaging MBI. Each imaging device offers an additional or alternative view that may detect lesions in the breast that might otherwise go unnoticed. It is well established that mammographic breast density—a reflection of the proportions of fat, connective tissue, and epithelial tissue in the breast—is a risk factor for breast cancer.
The University of California, Davis Department of Radiology is seeking up to two full-time, fellowship- trained breast imaging radiologists at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank in the ClinX or HSCP series commensurate with experience and qualifications. The UC Davis Breast Imaging Section offers a full range of digital breast imaging and interventional services in a team approach with other subspecialists. Qualifications: Must be experienced in screening and diagnostic mammography, tomosynthesis, breast US and MRI and image-guided interventional procedures. A commitment to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows is required. This is an opportunity to practice the highest quality breast imaging in an expanding section with dedicated faculty members in a stimulating, collegial, diverse, and rewarding environment.
Here we go. Honestly dont want to be here for da second time but going to get it over with so I dont have to worry as much as I am at this point. I finally followed through on my mammogram. Life got a little crazy, so it has been 4 years since my last one. In fact, it didn't hurt this time.
